چکیده

There are many sensorless schemes that have been proposed to estimate the rotor speed and position. However high frequency signal injection methods are able to detect the rotor speed and position even at zero speed whereas other schemes fail. Conventionally such methods use estimators based on the phase locked loop structure, which involves some restriction to maintain stability and track accurately the rotor position. Recently the concept of instantaneous frequency has become useful in many engineering applications where it is used to describe time varying signals. In this paper an instantaneous frequency estimation scheme based on the short time Fourier transform ridges is proposed to detect the rotor speed. Theoretical and simulation aspects of the conventional and proposed method are discussed and results are compared.

Totally Parameter Independent Speed Estimation of Synchronous Machines Based on Online Short Time Fourier Transform Ridges

High frequency signal injection is considered a parameter independent sensorless speed and position estimation technique which operates efficiently at low and zero speed. That is due to the saliency presence in the machine, which gives information about the rotor speed and position. Therefore the high frequency signal injected into the motor is modulated by the rotor speed and position informat...

An Adaptive Nonlinear Controller for Speed Sensorless PMSM Taking the Iron Loss Resistance into Account (RESEARCH NOTE)

In this paper, an adaptive nonlinear controller is designed for rotor Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (SPMSM) drive on the basis of Input-Output Feedback Control (IOFC), and Recursive Least Square (RLS) method. The RLS estimator detects the motor electromechanical parameters, including the motor iron loss resistance online. Moreover, a Sliding-Mode (SM) observer is developed for onli...

Sensorless Speed Measurement of AC Machines Using Analytic Wavelet Transform

A new method for sensorless speed estimation of ac machines, using the analytic wavelet transform of the stator current signal, is proposed for a direct torque control drive. A comparison with results obtained using the short-time Fourier transform is included. The proposed method can be implemented in real time on a digital signal processor. The time–frequency resolution obtained and the compu...

Sensorless Speed Control of Switched Reluctance Motor Drive Using the Binary Observer with Online Flux-Linkage Estimation

An adaptive online flux-linkage estimation method for the sensorless control of switched reluctance motor (SRM) drive is presented in this paper. Sensorless operation is achieved through a binary observer based algorithm. In order to avoid using the look up tables of motor characteristics, which makes the system, depends on motor parameters, an adaptive identification algorithm is used to estim...

Speed Sensorless Direct Torque Control of a PMSM Drive using Space Vector Modulation Based MRAS and Stator Resistance Estimator

This paper presents a speed sensorless direct torque control scheme using space vector modulation (DTC-SVM) for permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) drive based a Model Reference Adaptive System (MRAS) algorithm and stator resistance estimator. The MRAS is utilized to estimate speed and stator resistance and compensate the effects of parameter variation on stator resistance, which makes fl...
